Some cases present rare and unusual injuries or require multiple scenarios to be investigated.

This service provides detailed forensic reports and consulting services for complex personal injury cases.

Through the allocation of the most appropriate consultant and a consistent approach to assessment, we can provide a detailed forensic report for complex cases to assist in achieving a balanced outcome at the information gathering, court or settlement stages.

We can assist your firm in engaging the most appropriate strategy, with respect to instructing medico-legal experts (such as occupational therapists, vocational psychologists and physiotherapists).

Comprehensive ADL Home & Living Skills

A Comprehensive ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Home & Living Skills Report is engaged when:  

  • a personal injury results in significant impact to the individual and/or, 
  • a complex set of scenarios is required to be assessed. 
  •  

This assessment and report considers the impact of injuries sustained on the claimant’s functional capacity to perform everyday activities including: 

  • Complex history of injury, and need for reasonable and necessary past, present and future care assistance (such as personal, domestic, garden and home maintenance) expressed in hours/week/period with care rates given as a reference, 
  • Extensive technical aids, equipment and home modification recommendations including cost, supplier and replacement period, 
  • Recommendations on rehabilitation with costs (where applicable), 
  • Care of Others past and future care needs (where applicable), 
  • Calculation of weekly and annual costings of past and future recommendations (such as care, home modifications, equipment and rehab) made, 
  • Detailed lifetime costings and total claim cost included, and 
  • Extensive photographic support.

Moderate ADL Home & Living Skills

The Moderate ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Home & Living Skills Report details an individual’s ability to perform routine daily activities following an injury and makes recommendations for care and assistive technology needs. Ongoing rehabilitation and/or case management may not be required and the history of the injury is considered as less complex.  

The assessment includes a functional assessment taking into consideration the history of the injury. Recommendations are made for: 

    • Reasonable and necessary past, present and future care assistance (such as personal, domestic, garden and home maintenance) expressed in hours/week/period with care rates given as a reference,  
    • Recommendations for assistive technology and minor home modifications including cost, supplier and replacement period, and 
    • Moderate photographic support.

Personal & Domestic Care Skills

The Personal & Domestic Care Skills Report details an individual’s care needs and their ability to perform care activities within a domestic setting. 

Assessment of impact of injuries sustained on the claimant’s functional capacity to perform everyday activities. 

The assessment and report includes a brief history of injury, and the need for reasonable and necessary past, present and future care assistance (such as personal, domestic, garden and home maintenance) expressed in hours/week/period with care rates given as a reference.

Work Capacity and ADL Home & Living Skills

The Work Capacity and ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Home & Living Skills Report focuses strongly on the functional capacity of the individual to participate in work-related tasks. 

The report also includes comment on the injured individual’s ability to undertake future work, past and future care needs, assistive technology and home adaptations if applicable.
